Hot Yoga

Build flexibility, strength, stamina, balance and breathe awareness in a Hot Yoga Class – a complete work out for the whole body and mind

Hot Yoga is yoga taught in a heated studio (ours is heated to approx 35°C). The heat allows the body to open up more quickly enabling us to work more deeply in stretches with less chance of injury. When taught correctly, hot yoga can help with recovery from injury. The heat also makes the practise more intense raising cardio levels and requiring the student to develop strong mind focus to remain present in the postures and to keep awareness during practise.

Types of Hot Yoga Classes:

GENERAL HOT YOGA

Strong, deep stretches and holds

These classes are suitable for all; thus variations and modifications are taught throughout, and it is assumed there are those new to the practice in every class. Each class will vary as there is no fixed ‘routine’. There is a core warm up for all classes to allow your body to adjust to the temperature and adjust – it is therefore essential you are there on time. 10am and Evening Classes are all 75mins long. Lunch time sessions are 45mins to fit your lifestyle and work demands.

UPBEAT HOT YOGA

Invigorate, energise, stretch, and move the body to find your feet, and move to the beat

This weekly hot yoga class marks the end of the working week – Woohoo! On Friday at 5.45pm we shake off the week with our yoga practice with a little oompff and some great tunes. Whether you’re twisting and shouting or shaking your booty, this class will raise your spirits for the weekend. Get the whole body and mind work out with a big smile on your face.

ADVANCING YOUR PRACTICE

HOT POWER YOGA

Power & breath focus in deep stretches and long holds

This once a week hot yoga class is taught by Ray on a Wednesday at 5.45pm. It is influenced by various schools of yoga to create a unique class. This is an accessible class to all as variations are taught throughout, however the heart rate is raised further by a larger focus on the powerful long holds and strength building aspect. This is a well-rounded class from simple sun salutes to warm the body to a long sequence of standing and seated poses – all linked together by a strong focus on the breath.
