Ante-Natal Yoga

We are very pleased to have Rachel Jones teaching ante-natal Yoga at yogafever. Rachel's pregnancy yoga classes are a celebration of you, your pregnancy and your Yoga practice, whether you are a time-served practitioner or a complete beginner. If you would like to know more about Rachel please click here.

A creative style flows through the class – a time to undo daily tensions and invite freedom, space and fresh discovery, whilst honouring classical Yoga postures that honour the pregnant woman. You will enjoy standing postures to maintain energy and strength and also aid with the downward movement of gravity to gain optimal foetal positioning (baby's head down into the pelvis). The classes also address common areas of discomfort during pregnancy such as tightness in the neck, shoulders and middle back. Rachel also focuses on ways to deal with lower back pain, swollen joints and Symphasis Pelvic Disorder (SPD) pain. Improved sleep after practice is also a much welcomed benefit!

Rachel loves to bring awareness to the power within a woman when she is pregnant – it is a time of discovery – each and every pregnancy is unique. It is also a time of rest and rejuvenation – a time to let go and move into your own self whilst empowering, strengthening and energising from within. It is also a time to meet some like-minded folk and share some smiles along the way!

Teachings for breath awareness for pregnancy, birthing and post-natal are enjoyed, pelvic floor movement is taught, as is alignment and maintenance of body strength and flexibility. Ultimately, the sessions are a celebration of you, your pregnancy and your Yoga practice, whether you are a time-served practitioner or a complete beginner.

Ante-Natal Yoga Testimonials

As a busy mum with two children at home, the classes were a wonderful opportunity to set aside time for myself. The class provided movements which were both gentle and energising. Rachel always offered modifications that met my needs. My sense of well being was always enhanced by relaxation at the end of each session.

Thank you so much for all of your support. Fantastic sessions!

Angharad, Welsh Language Teacher

I joined the ante-natal yoga class when I was 20 weeks pregnant with my daughter, Holly. I thoroughly enjoyed the classes. I found the breathing techniques that we learnt to be very useful during labour and also during my pregnancy to keep me relaxed at night, helping me to sleep. My daughter is a very calm baby and I'm sure that practising yoga has contributed to this. If I become pregnant again I will certainly come back!

Alison, Mother

Before attending Rachel's classes, I had suffered with low back pain which I found was relieved. The breathing practices enabled me to feel confident about the birth and the postures taught were easy to follow, which made me feel confident about keeping up a yoga practice at home.

My weekly yoga sessions left me feeling like I'd been on holiday. Owen is the most chilled out and contented baby I could imagine – I know that Pete (my husband) also appreciated how relaxed I was after a Tuesday evening at The Kymin! Rachel is a fabulous teacher!
